PARIS, Jul 30 (CP) - The Tour de France might be over, but the doping scandals are not. Next to have been caught appears to be Spaniard Iban Mayo Diez, who tested positive on the second rest day.
The rider has been suspended by his team, Saunier Duval.
The positive doping test was revealed by world governing body UCI late on Monday, and it is expected that Mayo will request a second test.
It is the second time this year that Mayo tests positive. In the Giro d'Italia, the same happened but the UCI eventually cleared the rider.
If the A-sample turns out to be right, the doping did not have a great effect on the rider. The day after the test, he finished in 16th position at more than six minutes from Rasmussen.
His best result in this Tour was a second place in stage eight, where Rasmussen took the Yellow Jersey.
