VENEZIA, Jan 2 (CP) - With the start of the 2007 season, the Italian Liquigas riders Nicola Loda and Marco Milesi have ended their 13-year-old long career. The 35-year-old Loda turned professional in 1994 at GB-MG and rode for Ballan, Alessio, Fassa Bortolo and Tenax before joining Liquigas during his last season. The rider achieved victories in the Post Danmark Rundt, the Tour de Luxembourg and the GP du Midi Libre, but was mostly known as a good helper. His one-year-older teammate Milesi started his career at Brescialat and rode for Domo-Farm Frites and Vini Caldirola as well. Since 2005, his employer was Liquigas. Besides being a good helper, Milesi won a stage in the Euskal Bizikleta in 1998.
