REGENSBURG, Aug 16 (CP) - German Gerald Ciolek has achieved his second consecutive victory in the Deutschland Tour, while fellow countryman Jens Voigt continues to lead in the overall classification.
The seventh stage led from Kufstein to Regensburg over 192.2 kilometers, allowed for a group with Pütsep, Mandri, Belohvosciks, Leben and Stalder to ride away from the pack.
The maximum advantage stood at about six minutes but the sprinters teams would not let things go any further and began to control the stage.
The five leaders were caught with twelve kilometers to go and a mass sprint was imminent.
In that sprint, Gerald Ciolek earned T-Mobile a second consecutive stage win, beating favorite Erik Zabel and in-form Spaniard José Joaquin Rojas Gil.
Jens Voigt maintains his overall lead with only the individual time trial and a regular stage left to go.
