SERRAMAZZONI, Mar 29 (CP) - Discovery Channel's Alberto Contador Velasco seems to be still in his winning mood, crossing the finish line first in the fourth stage of the Vuelta a Castilla y Leòn. Meanwhile, the Spaniard conquered the lead in the general classification as well.
The penultimate stage led the riders from Wednesday's arrival Valladolid up to the Alto de Navacerrada, over 154 hard kilometres.
At the finish line, Contador defeated his fellow countryman Koldo Gil Perez in a sprint of two. Half a minute later, the latter's teammate Juan José Cobo Acebo won the sprint for third place.
With his victory, Contador is the new race leader as well, at the expense of Vladimir Karpets who won the opening time trial.
