
Floyd Landis went from hero to villain in the summer of 2006. The American, then riding for Phonak Hearing Systems, won the Tour de France but tested positive after the seventeenth stage, in which he had laid the foundation for his later victory.
The B-sample had the same outcome: Landis' testosterone level was too high. The rider himself continues to deny the use of doping.
