Hey Jonathan,

Some things I noticed the past few days:

- When you have predicted a rider, you see his name (logically) but not his id, just 0000. Could you change that? It's a bit confusing sometimes.
- There's something wrong with the use of the colors... Orange used to be for clickable thinks, but now you got orange not-clickable text and white clickable text. Same goes for the menu where both orange and blue are used.
- On the homepage, the banner is missing. On other pages, he does appear but the padding/margin at the bottom seems to be incorrect.
- When you visit for example hincapie08's profile, he's currently ranked 5th in the Tirreno-Adriatico, but this race hasn't started yet.
- When you accept a team invitation, some weird text appears with your current standings etc. I assume this is still in some kind of testing phase?

I got to say though, I like the introduction text with latest updates on results and changes in the ranking. Keep up the good work Wink

Greetz,

Pirata

Hey Pirata,

Thanks for the tips, i'll definitely get them all sorted.

- I'll have the ID appear in the text field instead of 0000. - (Done now)
- I'll also work on uniformity for text and links. For the menu I deliberately used different colors though, matter of taste probably. Smiley
- I actually wanted to remove the banner from all pages, just didn't do it yet for the others. Will do soon.
- Still have to think about the rank appearing..it's mostly an easy way to see which races the member made predictions for. Maybe I can replace the rank with the word 'subscribed' when the race is yet to start.
- Yes, the team invitation is still under construction Smiley. What you saw are actually not standings but some php variables used to add your new team membership to the system. I made the script echo out those variables afterwards to see whether they all came through alright. I think i'll be opening up team creation to all members tonight. I'm hoping this will also inspire people to attract new members to the game.

Thanks for the compliment about the latest updates Smiley. I'm also planning to have a page that shows all race winners and all leaders throughout the season, as a season palmares.

One last thing I am considering, is to eventually close down this forum and replace it with a simpler forum that would be integrated with the prediction game (and maybe blogs).

I've seen you added some more features the past few days. Keep up the good work. I got some more minor remarks though:

- When you predict stage races, each stage has his own darker blue box. The idea of clearifying each stage is good, but I think the blue is a bit too heavy.
- There's already a one day races top 10 but Milano-San Remo hasn't passed yet (same principle as in my previous post, remark n°4)
- Maybe you should add a non breaking space between the player's name and the yellow flag (as winner in the ranking)
- Is it possible that one of the profile options doesn't work: the team page message. I haven't received any e-mails when new messages are posted (same might go for profiles messages but haven't tested this yet)

Don't mean to be offensive, just want to help you optimise the game.

Hey Pir,

Don't worry, all advise is welcome Smiley.

- I might use another color, maybe something a little lighter.
- I have to think about the ranking thing..it's also meant to be a reminder for people to start predicting.
- So how do you have it in mind exactly, with the yellow jersey?
- That is possible, yes. I added profile function, but I still need to add the actual function that sends out the mail. The profile part was the hardest anyway. I think i'll get this done tomorrow.

If you have more ideas, also for completely new functions, you're welcome to share Smiley.

At the moment, you have something like this:

<a href='profile.php?member=98'>flyd</a><img src='/predictions/yellowjersey.png' width='20' height='20' border='0'>

This makes the yellow flag appear right next to "flyd". It might look better if you would add some space:

<a href='profile.php?member=98'>flyd</a>&nbsp;<img src='/predictions/yellowjersey.png' width='20' height='20' border='0'>

Already fixed by now, good job Wink

Last but not least, it might be helpful if you copy the "shared lead rule" to the help menu or make a rules menu. During the first races you will face some new problems I suppose which should be clearly added to the rules somewhere.

Does it look better like this, the jersey?

Yes, I'll definitely update the help/rules page. At this moment it's a matter of forming the rules using experience, so I might always add a new rule or remove one. Smiley

Does it look better like this, the jersey?

In my opinion, yes Smiley

Help and Rules page adjusted.  Smiley

Looking more professional this way. Maybe you could explain why people should contact you if some of their housemates would like to play as well (ip-address)

One more thing I just noticed: the contact us page isn't updated yet to the prediction game layout.

Thanks for the reminder of the contact page, i'll get that fixed soon too.

As you'll see, i've been playing around with the layout today, I think it looks a bit calmer and cleaner this way.
